A little cold won’t slow her down

Poor baby got her first cold on Friday..started with the sniffles and then some low fever..her nose is still stuffy but she can’t be stopped. She said baba on Sunday..purposefully called her dad and showered him with kisses. Poor Zahi now has the cold too.

She said mama on Monday..I left her strapped in her rocker to get her food ready and she couldn’t see me and there I heard it distinct and oh so sweet..mama.
I also showed her pictures of her dad yesterday and that elicited the biggest smile and a bababababa from her. How can we possibly fit more love in our hearts for her.
She also has a giant fan club at the gym. They call her cheeks..as soon as we walk in all the trainers (even the burliest of them) just fall under her spell and wait for her superstar smile.

8 months of mischief

Our little monkey turned 8 months and it all happened so quickly.
Physically, she is getting taller and stronger. She still doesn’t have any teeth..but any day now, right? She sits in the shopping cart like a pro (loves the HEB car-carts). She does the military crawl chasing Freddy around the house. And she loves to jump around in her door jumper.

Emotionally, her personality is really starting to show through and she is a sweetie. I am not just saying that because she is my daughter… but this girl is just so sweet. For example, we get in the elevator after she got her flu shot, she looks at lady 1 till she makes eye contact, then big toothless smile. Then on to charm lady no 2 and so on. No one is safe from her sassy smile. She absolutely loves babies and other children. If she could flap her arms any more she would levitate when she meets a new baby around her age/size. Then she attacks them with love. She made a boy cry in costco…hopefully she is just a tiny bit more reserved when she is older hehe.

Updates on sleep training

This is the second day in a row that Sophia sleeps through the night. She goes to bed around 830pm with almost no fuss and has been waking up between 7 and 8am. She has come a long way and the sad sleep training days are mostly behind us yay!

Naps are sometimes tricky because she can tell it is light out and wants me right next to her, but she has been doing so well! She really sleeps best in her crib. She knows it’s for sleeping, hugs her teddy and sings or tosses until she falls asleep. It is curious though, sometimes she wakes up in a wonderful happy mood and sometimes she wakes up crying for me. I think the sleep training worked great but like any baby she wants to know mom and dad are around.

Here is the sweetness that melts my heart everyday

Hold up…it’s potty time

She woke up around 8am and Zahi woke me up so we can try to get her to go on the potty..I know, a little early for 7mth old but she has been pretty regular with her morning poop that we thought we would give it a try. Day 1…no success..she didn’t have to go till 11ish…needless to say she got back her diaper after 20min for waiting and entertaining her lol.

Better luck next time 🙂
